About Animal Cruelty
What is animal cruelty?
Animal cruelty comes in two forms: neglect and abuse. The Humane Society of the United States explains it as "...either deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal." Neglect included not providing proper food, water, and shelter for the animal, as well as not fulfilling other needs the animal has. Abuse is physically harming the animal by hitting it, kicking it, slamming it into things, etc. Hoarding is also considered a form of abuse in some situations.
